Tuesday – Trellis Bay – Rental Car Day
Immigration/Customs are
surprisingly very friendly!!! Even when you have over stayed your
welcome!
We initially just
checked into the country for 7 days.. Assuming we would need to get back
to USVI to get a new charger…
Still don't have a
charger, but we are certainly over the 7 days.. Walked over to the
airport last night with our paperwork.. Talked to Immigration and they
said.. No problem.. but we can't do it here.. you have to go to Road town… and
they close in 10 minutes…
Hummm… Ok…
Next day..(Fully over
our welcome allowance) we ask about a cab to road town. cheaper to rent a
car… Sweet! sounds like we need to make an adventure of the day…
The rental was a
Japanese Who Knows what.. Foot to the floor going up hills was the only
way…
The transmission is
sure to fail soon..But it got us ALL THE WAY around the island!!!
Whooo All 21
Square miles of her!!!… Took the entire day… I think its 400 square
miles up and down…ha!!!
Over to Road town, we
went to the ferry dock, customs place.. Nice people, but wrong place..
need to go to HEAD OFFICE..
Over to where they
said… "Marriages, Births, and Deaths" place.. Since
we didn't need any of them, they sent us down a gravel alley way…
to… eventually the
right place…
About 10 people or so
sitting down waiting.. The "wait your number machine" was at 21
when I took ticket 25… Allie asked "What ticket did you get
Dad".. I said 47…
Her jaw dropped as the
guy sitting beside me looking at my ticket started laughing,, as did a few
others… what fun we have with young Allie!!!
$30 later were good to
stay another month… Funny we ran into so many people we
know already.. Two at immigration… 1 at the ferry dock..
Waitress from our mid
day snack was walking her dog as we got back.. she waved knowing exactly who we
were… ha!!! Cycle is repeating itself..
Small Island.. make
friends in a hurry…
Running the ridge line
of the mountains (big hills?) we had spectacular views all day..
Over to Bomba's famous
surf shack… You can't get there by boat.. and its a must do!
Cane Garden bay to
inspect Guy Parkers woodworking from the year before..
They were extending the
deck and Guy and I leaned on the boards to keep them somewhat upright as they
drilled the thru holes..
Amazing.. it seemed to
work out Guy!!! ha!!!
On a bit of a mission
to find Ryans new boat on this island.. People have been using it this week..
it came back to the dock today and we found her !!! Some pics attached!
Grocery shopping
(apparently sailors call that provisioning.. not sure why).. Loaded up
the dingy with the goodies, as Robin and Allie left the dock.. I drove back to
the airport.. (1/4 mile)..
Then walked back with a
beer to the dock as Allie picked me up in the dingy… like clockwork
What a great day!
Full chicken n spices in the pressure cooker tonight..
Another New recipe… Smells AWESOME!!! And it takes 17 minutes to
cook!! (But an hour by the time you do all the fixin's)
Have a Great Day
Later that night over
to Kim and Kary’s boat called the Riley for drinks.. and discuss Carabee on our
mooring.. great folks.. looks like
Thursday is the day to move her!!
We discovered the
password to the secret internet!!! YES!!!
