Day 61 - Sept 30 – Monday - ELECTRICAL ISSUES !!!

Found a huge issue with the electrical line coming in the boat.. its smoking hot..

Can’t even get the connector apart.  Shut everything down.. started disconnecting..

Dropped the dingy and went over to Skipper’s shop.. they only had 120V 30 amp stuff.. we need 250 volt 50 amp.

Ran over to West marine using Judith’s account (apparently we have one now too!).

Bought new chrome junction box and connector for the cord.. (new cord was $800).

Came back to the boat in darkness and replaced everything.. fired it up and WOW.. all my electrical issues are gone..  Even the ones in the BOAT…

Breaker used to go when you flushed the head.. no more..   Hot water is WAY Hotter..

Awesome!!

Oh ya.. picked up a BBQ and a SUP Board while we were there and discount card in hand!!! Awesome!!!

Day 60 -Sept 29 – Sunday - NASCAR !!!

Over to a little Mexican restaurant for happy hour and NASCAR..  stayed for an hour or so.. race was kinda boring..  did some grocery shopping on the way back..

Day 59 - Sept 22 – 28 2013 - SAILING !!!

Went sailing on Island Dancer!!!   We left at Midnight and motored all night into the east winds..   port engine shutdown after 7 hours..   It didn’t have much power only reving to 2200 rpm..  Star engine smokes black but runs good.. got some work to do!!!

Little Pico is freaking out.. I hold him on my lap ALL NIGHT.. he is shaking.. doesn’t have his boat legs!

Autopilot shutdown after 8 hours..   looks like I don’t have the battery charger selector in the right spot.. as it worked the rest of the trip without issue.

Culebra was our first stop.. beautiful..   very quiet place!!  Flamingo beach was awesome….   Rented a golf cart for $25.00..  so fun!   Lots of snorkling and good eats!

Over to Vieques for bioluminance night!! Ha..   ran into dolphins on the way.. so cool!!!   The bio-L was amazing!!!   

Little pico is a trouper now..  he loves sailing!!! No more shakking and loves me!!

Stopped at a cool little island on the way back for lunch..  then skipped back on a beautiful night, motor sailing..  seas were very light the whole trip, so not much wind for sailing… which is great for Pico..  but had to keep one motor on..

Day 43 - Day 59 - Sept 11 – 21 2013 CHURCH??? ha!!!

After my parents left, we took the rental car to the mall and got Robin’s cell phone working..  that’s been a blessing.. she really needs it for work..  we find it very handy.. and having unlimited calling to Canada, we are catching up with everyone.. very fun!!!

Getting back into a routine..  working in the mornings.. beach in the afternoon.. checked out a few new beach’s..

Went to Church…  really.. yes really..   ha..  Bill did a talk about his adventures at sea.. that part was AWESOME.. too funny and amazing to listen to..  the other part of church was not good.. Robin and Allie actually left at one point..  chick running it as a temp substitute was CRAZY.

Took the Liferaft in for servicing..  Bill was nice enough to offer his car and driving abilities.. we got it back a few days later and now have it installed.. nice to know!!!

Painted the complete engine room..  looks awesome!! Although Robin was not impressed with the paint smell.. actually took a couple days to reside..  she took my paint brushes away!!! L

Been hanging out with Judith a lot these days.. she took us to the market.. fun day..  there’s a good video on kozyboat!

Allie has been co-captain of her cruise’s around the bay with customers..  She really likes it and is learning how to sail.. and gaining hours towards a captains license!!

Day 43 - Thursday - Rainy.. working onboard Island Dancer

Spent much of the day getting the cell phone to work on T-Mobile...  trouble getting the iphone unlocked, but we got it in the end..  now we have a real puerto rico phone number!!
Lots of work on Robins business today..
Took a break to feed the fish old bread with Allie..  
Later we walked over to Pueblo grocery store..  picked up some beer rib type things.
Pressure cooker with BBQ sauce,  potatoes, onions..  made corn on the side... AWESOME!!!
Lots of calls on the new cell phone..  free to USA..  we think skype on data will be the thing for canada..  seems they cut the bandwidth at a certain point..  they txt me something in spanish.. no idea what.. then the phone got choppy on skype..
Bill was down to the dock to give Pico a haircut..   Nice walk with Allie.. Mom stayed back and did more work..
Hey.. new sun shades installed today... love them!!  they fit in grooves all the way around.. roll up.. AWESOME!!
Fixed the Icemaker stinky ice issue..  water filters were disgusting!..  found one new charcoal one, so installed that.. left the second chamber empty..   Ice is nice now!!

DAY 33 - 43 Mom and Dad in Puerto Rico

Sunday - Picked them up at the airport.. intersting bus ride!..  a little late but we made it
Monday - Rented a car - Mom has a hard time getting around.. can't use the bus, Over to the boat..  dinner at the pizza joint with Luigi... walmart !!!
Tuesday - Picked up PArents.. went to Rain forest.. very nice!
Wednesday -  Mall day..  Ponderosa, Best Buy, Allie got a Go Pro Camera
Thursday - Turkey dinner onboard Island Dancer.. its christmas!
Friday - Over to Walmart again..  then back to the boat for dinner..  excellent!!
Saturday Old San Jaun.  rode the trolley, up to the castle.  great dinner at a pizza place
Sunday - Hot day..  went for a drive out to the east end.. dinner at marina puerto del ray
Monday Took the life raft to be re certified with Bill and Dad.. dropped gramma and girls off at mall,, back to the boat, found the oil transfer pump.. its seized.. need it to change the oil..snorkling at the resort, then subs from subway
Tuesday - Big party onboard Island Dancer, 13 for dinner!!!.. took mom and dad for a ride in the dingy
Wednesday - Picked up mom n dad, drove them to the airport..  over to a burger joint after

Day 33 - Monday - Boat Tour - Walmart - Puerto Rican Dinner

Picked up my parents at the resort.. They were hanging with Allie at the dive shop.
We got a rental car today!!.. its really nice!
Tried to drive down to Ol San Juan, but a parade was on.. so went to the boat.
It was fun stopping at an old decrepit boat and pretending it was ours..
They awe'd over Island dancer!
Went out to Walmart and did the grocery cart trick with Gramma, she was sure it was going to crash everyone!.. ha
Face timed Jessi..  everyone loved that.
Out to dinner at a Puertorican place.. very nice..  Grampa and Robin got a whole fish... not something I could stomach.. but they loved it.. apparently!! ha!!

Day 32 - Sunday - Grampa Gramma come to visit

After a nice breakfest of beans toast eggs and BACON onboard this morning, we went out for a run..  back to the boat for the normal couple maintenance jobs...then showered up to start the day.
Walked over to the Hilton, and registered my parents.. they arrive today.
The room wasnt ready yet (at 1pm)..  my parents dont land until 6pm.. but I asked..
"Any chance of a drink at the bar while we wait for the room"... sure... rum coupons!!
Over to the swim up bar (us on the dry side!).. beeper goes off.. room is ready..  quick drinks then up to the room.. its fabulous..

Back to the boat for a quick dinner.. then to the bus!!
Humm.. this bus system isnt the best all the time... wait wait wait.. the Puerto Rican way they say... 40 minutes I give up.. but then of course the bus comes..  we run to the next stop.. and get on..
All locals on the bus.. this is fun.. we ride all through town.. then out of town.. no tourists on this bus!!!
All of a sudden a GUN BLAST !!! on the bus..
Hang on..  maybe not.. one guy got one with toy ballon hat.. it exploded.. everyone starts laughing..
Getting into some bad neighbourhoods.. but everyone onboard is happy.. its still pretty cool.   We talk to some of the people on the bus..  and then our stop comes up.
We almost missed it.. people started shouting to us...  something in Spanish.. no idea
One guy knows english... "This is your stop..."...  Gracias!!!
Next bus never comes..  we are running a bit late..  grabbed a cab.. over to the airport..
Gramma and Grampa are just there..  perfect.. in the cab and back to their hotel.
Got them setup...  took them for a bit to eat and turned in for the night!
