Walked over to ACME Big Ass chain place and ordered 300 feet of 3/8 G4 chain for the 2^nd windlass (anchor)..  It’s about $6 at west marine..  $3.75 a foot here..  I was sure they quoted me $2 or so a foot a month ago… but is what it is!!.  

Well they check stock…  (sorta, look in a barrel)..   we only have 100 feet , two weeks to get it in…   WHAT???  We are leaving next week??  Bummmmmmer..   not likely to find it anywhere else for a cheap price.. just getting it to the boat will be a huge pain using a dingy.. this stuff weights about 250 lbs??

I ask him to measure the length..   155 feet..  hummm now were talking… how about rope?..  yes 5/8 Nylon windlass rope… new roll in stock..   

These guys to the connections on lines for the cruise ships… huge presses in their shop..  So I got them to hook 100’ of rope to the 155’ of chain.. and Bob’s you Uncle..

Delivered in the afternoon..  we layed it out on the dock and painted markings at 50’,60, etc etc..  nice little system we came up with to identify..

I used black, rust proof, 15 minute dry, thick paint..  16 minutes later it started to rain…   GEeeeeeze..   so leaving it in the sun this morning.. it will be ok… 

Over to Scott’s house for a great dinner!!   I forget what he calls it, but its rice and beef and Spices!  It was better than Chili.. amazing!!   Zev picked us up.. great night telling stories and looking at charts!

Drove the rental car over to Enterprise..  10 mins later we were out of there with a bill of $27.00 .. Not as cheap as last time, but still pretty good!

Bought a $4.00 starbucks simple black Coffee..

Robin wearing a skirt, me in shorts, both in flip flops.. we walk through the shop with 3000 lb presses squeezing cruise ship lines together..  grinders going all over the place.. walking on steel plates thrown on dirt floor..   A few looks over to Robin.. they didn’t even see me!.. ha..    ok back tomorrow with the correct size..

Over to PORT OF CALL.. a famous crappy bar.. had a quick beer.. interesting place.. much like Skiggies back home..  

Down to the super expensive, but super good grocery store.. 2 T-Bone steaks 1.25” thick.. amazing..  $34.00   who cares.. I WANT STEAK

BBQ was Great!!!.. talked to John and Heather Hamilton while bbqin..  we will see them in BVI’s in December

What?  Rain?  It never rains here!!  What the Hell!!!    And it’s not going to let up.. this is one of the only RAIN DAYS in 2 months here!!! GEEZE!!!

Well.. looks like a rental car and shopping day… so we did!!

Took the Halon type fire extinguisher from the engine room over to the special store that fills em..  $600..   WHAT??   $600??  WHAT??  

Buddy says..  this is not a fire extinguisher.. this is HALON dude..  it comes out as a gas…   and get this.. it’s empty….  Just services in Barbados last year..  its missing the plastic melty thing.. the guage reads zero…  what happened there is a guess but Im thinking a scam in Barbados…   So.. we left it there.. not done until next week..

Had to return the rental care..  Cig lighter didn’t work.. GPS going to Die..

Now we have RED Suzuki piece of crap.. good thing is these cars use NO GAS..  amazing.. ($5.00 over 2 days..  and that was a little too much.. $4 would have done).
Over to CES? supply store...   Reverse Osmosis filters in STOCK..  $400 each.. need 2 of them..  they are 40" long and 4" diameter..
Bottom paint for Day Dream Believer in BVI's..  $90.00 a gallon Blue..
new pressure guage for water maker 1000 psi..  ($100)..  not cheap but not easy to find..

Burlington coat factory for B-suits for Robin..   Then we went to UNO Steak house for BEER for Timbo.. I hate shopping!!!   WALMART… $500 provisioning run.. new fire extingishers for the boat.. and smoke detectors all around..   CART IS FULL

Back to the boat.. unload..  back to the big mall

Macy’s..  OMG I HATE SHOPPING.. ha.. but there was a very cool car show in the mall… just like Detroit.. amazing..  

Oct 27 –Day 88 -MAst Steppin

Oct 27 – Rody picked me up this morning and we went to Fajardo to step the mast on her sailboat.  Ricardo came along and Learin..  Went really well..  fixed all the lights while we were at it..   Back to the boat we had a party for Zev.. It was his birthday.. Robin made two lasagne’s…Nice night with 11 for dinner.

Oct 28 – Out for an SUP ride…  east winds are getting stronger these days.. it’s a heck of a workout just getting to the other end of the lagoon!  

Cleaning up the boat today and working on the watermaker.. I think we can get more Reverse osmosis filters here in town… trying to get ahold of them.

Oct 26 –  Saturday - Beach day!  JESSI's BIRTHDAY!! WHOOO HOO!! Just starting our day and phone rings.. Rody…  pack up a bag were going to the beach!.. Ha  great time..  huge beach and a 20 floor bulding with a fresh water pool at the top..  great day!!!
